Join us for “An Evening for Vanna Howard” on April 25th, 2026 at the Long Meadow Golf Club in Lowell, as we honor Vanna for her service to the cultural community.

As a public servant, Vanna Howard is a natural. She is approachable and generous with her time. Often seen at nonprofit events, city events, and art receptions, she intrigues community members with her never ending schedule.

Vanna moved to Lowell in 1991 when hired as a bilingual secretary. She was the first Khmer woman to serve in Massachusetts General Court and also gained experience working as an assistant to Niki Tsongas as a Constituent Services Representative (2008 to 2015) and as Regional Director (2015 to 2019).

She has served as a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives from the 17th Middlesex District since January 2021. In 2023 Vanna sponsored a resolution to recognize Cambodian Genocide Remembrance Day that was adopted by the House.

Vanna has been a longtime supporter of the arts and the studio artists at the Brush Art Gallery and Studios, Merrimack Repertory Theater, Girls Inc., the Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association and countless other organizations in Lowell.
